Pick one goal widget, tie each quarter of its bar to something you do on camera, and give chat a reason to act tonight. This guide gives you three Halloween stream blueprints, each wired to a real goal widget: a haunted subathon, a potion brew and a pumpkin carve.
Four nights to go. Every widget below is in the Halloween collection, which has 20% off until Oct 31 (the code is at the end).
One limit first: a goal widget counts goal events and fills a bar. It does not run your timer, your vote or your reveal. You run those, and each blueprint says where.
The three blueprints at a glance
| Blueprint | Widget | What fills the bar | Length |
|---|---|---|---|
| Haunted Subathon | Spooky Cauldron Goal Widget | Subscribers | 3 hours |
| Potion Brewing | Potion Bottle Goal Widget | Cheers | 2 hours |
| Pumpkin Goals | Halloween Pumpkin Goal Widget | Followers | 90 minutes |
All goal numbers in this guide are examples. Set your own to match the size of your channel.
How every blueprint works
A goal widget is an animated meter that fills as you work toward a target. A goal event is a follow, a subscription, a tip or a cheer (a Bits message in chat). You set the target and pick which events count in the widget editor, inside StreamElements or Streamlabs.
Every blueprint below uses the same four moves:
- Announce the goal. Say the number, the event and what each quarter unlocks, before you go live and again in your first minutes.
- Put the bar on screen. Add the widget as a browser source, the OBS layer that loads a web page.
- Mark four quarters. Tie each quarter to one thing you do on camera.
- Close the loop. Read each new sub, cheer or follow aloud and say where the bar stands.

Blueprint 1: Haunted Subathon
A fixed three-hour stream where subscriptions fill a cauldron and each quarter starts a haunt. A haunt is a change of segment that you run by hand. The widget is the Spooky Cauldron Goal Widget, a bubbling cauldron whose potion level rises as the goal fills.
- What you announce: "Tonight the cauldron needs 24 subs. At 6, 12, 18 and 24, a haunt starts."
- What the goal counts: subscribers. The listing names followers, subscribers, tips and cheers, and you pick one in the editor.
- How chat takes part: viewers subscribe to fill the cauldron. Everyone else can guess the minute it fills, and you read the guesses in the last 15 minutes.
Hour by hour
- 0:00 to 0:15: show the empty cauldron and say what the four haunts are.
- 0:15 to 2:45: play as normal. At 6 subs, turn the lights off for one segment. At 12, let chat pick your next segment from three options. At 18, put on the costume piece you have been hiding.
- 2:45 to 3:00: at 24 subs, run the finale and let the cauldron boil over on screen. If it has not filled, read out the total, thank chat and end on time.
One limit to know: the Spooky Cauldron Goal Widget has no timer and does not start the haunts. The listing names Twitch only, and the three things you can change are colour, font and font size.
Blueprint 2: Potion Brewing
A two-hour brew where cheers fill a bottle and each quarter adds one ingredient. The widget is the Potion Bottle Goal Widget, a liquid-fill bottle built for fantasy and witch themed streams.
- What you announce: "Tonight the bottle brews. It needs 1,000 cheers, and each quarter adds one ingredient."
- What the goal counts: cheers. The listing also names follower, subscriber, tip and raid goals.
- How chat takes part: viewers cheer to fill the bottle and name the potion. You run the ingredient vote with your usual chat poll, because the widget does not read votes.
Hour by hour
- 0:00 to 0:10: show the empty bottle and lay out three ingredient cards. Props, notes or snacks all work.
- 0:10 to 1:50: play as normal. At 250 cheers, add ingredient one. At 500, run the chat vote for ingredient two. At 750, add ingredient three.
- 1:50 to 2:00: at 1,000 cheers, show the finished potion. A drink you mixed or a prop both land well on camera.
One limit to know: the Potion Bottle Goal Widget tracks Twitch goals through a free StreamElements or Streamlabs account. The listing says it does not read Kick or YouTube activity, and it is a manual install, not a one-click one.
Blueprint 3: Pumpkin Goals
A 90-minute carve-off where followers fill a pumpkin and each quarter earns one feature on a real pumpkin. The widget is the Halloween Pumpkin Goal Widget, a cat-pumpkin goal that fills as new followers come in.
- What you announce: "Tonight the pumpkin needs 40 new follows. At 10, 20, 30 and 40, one more feature gets carved."
- What the goal counts: followers. The listing names followers, subscribers, tips and cheers.
- How chat takes part: viewers follow to fill the pumpkin and vote on the face style with a poll you run.
Hour by hour
- 0:00 to 0:10: put the blank pumpkin on camera next to the empty widget.
- 0:10 to 1:20: play as normal. At 10 follows, carve one eye. At 20, carve the second. At 30, carve the nose.
- 1:20 to 1:30: at 40 follows, carve the mouth and light the pumpkin with an LED candle.
Want a softer look? The Love Pumpkin Goal Widget is a heart-topped pumpkin. It is built as a StreamElements custom widget, and its FAQ says the download has no separate Streamlabs build.
One limit to know: the Halloween Pumpkin Goal Widget cannot see your carving. It fills only as followers arrive, and you can change colour, font and font size.
Add a twist: Team Angel vs Team Devil
The Devil and Angel Goal Widget is two animated liquid-fill trackers in one download, made for a good versus evil channel. Name the two sides, let chat pick one with a poll, and keep the score yourself.
One limit to know: the listing does not say how events split between the two trackers. Read the included setup guide before you promise chat a split.

Use the free option when it fits
StreamElements has its own free gallery of chat and goal widgets. If you only need a bar that fills, start there, and use it to test the idea for nothing before you spend on art.
A Halloween widget earns its place when the artwork is part of the show. A cauldron or a pumpkin is something chat can watch fill, and that is the point of these blueprints. For a wider look at what is available, read the Halloween overlays and widgets guide.
Set up the goal widget in 10 to 15 minutes
These steps follow the listings. Each download includes a setup guide, so use it for exact screens.
- Open the code file in your download for your service, StreamElements or Streamlabs.
- Paste it into a new custom widget in StreamElements, or a new theme in Streamlabs, then save.
- Copy the overlay link, then add a Browser Source in OBS or Streamlabs Desktop and paste the link.
- Set the browser source and your OBS canvas to 1920 x 1080.
- In the widget settings, set your goal target and pick which events count.
What you should see: the empty bar in your scene, on a transparent background.
If it does not show up:
- Black screen: turn off your VPN or ad blocker, then refresh the browser source.
- Blurry widget: give the canvas and the browser source the same 1920 x 1080 size. The black screen and blurry fix has the full steps.

FAQ
Does the widget start the haunt, the vote or the reveal?
No. It counts goal events and fills a bar. You start every haunt, vote and reveal yourself.
Which events can fill the bar?
On all five widgets above, the listings name followers, subscribers, tips and cheers. The Potion Bottle Goal Widget also names raids.
Do tips count?
Tips count when they go through StreamElements, as the listings state.
Do these work on Kick or YouTube?
The five listings name Twitch. The Potion Bottle listing says it does not read Kick or YouTube activity. If you stream there, the Spooky Jar Goal Widget lists Twitch, YouTube and Kick.
