Tonight's Halloween stream runs best in four blocks: a 30-minute pre-show, a costume reveal in hour one, a goal push in hour two and a final hour that closes the goal. This guide gives you the clock for each block, the widget that does each job and the time HALLOWEEN20 ends tonight.

It is written for a streamer who is setting up today. Every setup time below comes from the product listing, so you can see what fits before you go live. A browser source is the OBS layer that loads a web page. A stinger is a short video that plays over a scene change.

The run of show at a glance

Pick your own go-live time and count from there. The clock below runs from 0:00, when you go live.

Halloween night run of show: pre-show, costume reveal, goal push and final hour, each with its widget

Block Clock On screen Widget
Pre-show -0:30 to 0:00 Looping pumpkins and live chat Animated Halloween Pumpkin Stream Decoration, Graveyard Shift Halloween Multistream Chat Widget
Hour 1 0:00 to 1:00 Open, then the costume reveal Halloween Neon Stream Transitions
Hour 2 1:00 to 2:00 The goal push Halloween Pumpkin Goal Widget, Animated Ghost Alert Widget
Hour 3 2:00 to 3:00 The final hour The same goal, called out by you

Pre-show: -0:30 to 0:00

Use the half hour to put Halloween on screen and prove that chat works. You want your first minute live to be about the show, not about a black box.

  • -0:30: add the Animated Halloween Pumpkin Stream Decoration to your starting scene as a Media Source. It is 9 transparent looping WebM files at 1920x1080, in purple, orange and toxic green. The listing says setup takes under five minutes.
  • -0:20: add chat with the Graveyard Shift Halloween Multistream Chat Widget. Each message becomes a crypt plaque, and a candle at its foot burns in the color of the platform it came from.
  • -0:05: send a message from a second account and check that the plaque rises. A Twitch GIF shows inside the message too.

What you need for chat: a free StreamElements account. YouTube needs a free YouTube Data API key and Kick needs your channel name. TikTok chat runs through the free TikFinity desktop app, which is unofficial and can break without notice.

One limit to know: the pumpkin decoration is a plain video file. It reads no chat and counts no goals. GIFs are a Twitch chat feature, so YouTube, Kick and TikTok messages stay text.

Hour 1: open and costume reveal

Go live on your starting scene, greet chat, then give the costume one clean reveal. Do it once, so it lands.

  • 0:00: go live. Say what tonight is: a goal, a countdown to midnight, a costume.
  • 0:10: switch from your "changing" scene to your costume scene with a stinger.
  • 0:15 to 1:00: play normally with chat on screen. Save the goal for the next hour.

The Halloween Neon Stream Transitions pack has 48 transparent WebM transitions: four icons (Ghost, Moon, Bat and Pumpkin), three palettes, outlined and filled styles, and 2-second and 4.5-second lengths. Add your favorite as an OBS Stinger transition and follow the PDF guide. The black fill inside the enlarged icon hides the scene cut, so the scene switch happens behind it.

One limit to know: the animations are silent. Add your own sound effect if you want one.

The free option

OBS Studio ships with Fade, Slide, Swipe, Stinger and other transitions at no cost. If you only need a clean cut between scenes, Fade does it. The pack earns its place when you want the cut to look like Halloween.

Hour 2: the goal push

This is the hour that decides the night, so give chat one number to chase. Announce it at 1:00 and leave the bar on screen.

The Halloween Pumpkin Goal Widget is a cat-pumpkin that fills as followers, subscribers, tips and cheers come in. You set the goal target and pick which events count. Tips count when they go through StreamElements. The listing puts manual setup at about 10 to 15 minutes.

A goal that fits the night looks like this, with the numbers as examples that you set yourself: 25 new followers, or 10 subscribers, or a mix you choose when you set the bar.

Pair it with the Animated Ghost Alert Widget. Follows, subs, tips, bits and raids each get a witch ghost with the viewer's name and amount. Supporters who meet the thresholds you set can join a Ghost Party along the bottom of your scene. Party auto-admission starts off, so turn it on before you go live.

  • 1:00: say the goal and what it counts.
  • 1:15: read the first ghost alerts aloud so chat sees the party grow.
  • 1:30: call the halfway mark.

One limit to know: the pumpkin goal shows no chat and reads Twitch only. The ghost alerts depend on the events your provider sends, and they need a StreamElements account.

Hour 3: the final hour

The widget counts. You do the calling. Nothing in either widget runs an event for you, so the last hour is a script you keep in your head.

  • 2:00: say how much is left on the bar.
  • 2:30: say it again, and name the people who got you here.
  • 2:50: make a last call, then stop adding new asks.
  • 3:00: thank chat, show the full bar and sign off.

What you should see: the pumpkin full or close to it, the ghost party along the bottom and chat plaques still rising.
